Mathematics is probably the most widely studied subject there is, but many find it difficult to master. One of the reasons is that it builds relentlessly on material that has been previously taught. It only takes a few missed lessons, or ones where the student has failed the grasp the most important ideas, for a wall of difficulties to appear down the road. There are other issues as well. Too often mathematics is not taught in a logically progressive manner such that all the key techniques are mastered before the student progresses to ever more complicated problems. On this website we have compiled a series of problem sheets which we hope will give a comprehensive grounding in the fundamentals of mathematical technique, working progressively towards more challenging problems. It is aimed at the new 9-1 syllabus for GCSE and iGCSE mathematics, but its usefulness is by no means limited to that curriculum. We hope it will be useful to both teachers and students alike.
